Access Statement for Buckle Yeat Guesthouse

Introduction

Situated in the centre of Near Sawrey, a small village with Beatrix Potters house the main attraction, there is pub right next door and a hotel 100 meters away for dining.

We offer 1 twin room, 2 Double rooms all en-suite 

We offer bed and breakfast and use top quality local produce and cater for all diets on request

Pre-Arrival

Our location and directions can be found on our web site www.buckle-yeat.co.uk by clicking on the contact button.

The nearest railway station is Windermere, taxis are available there or a bus to the ferry cross the ferry and take another bus into village, we can pick up from ferry by prior arrangement.

Car Parking and Arrival

We have ample off road parking to the side of the house and access to the house is 20 meters away through the front gate (down a 15cm step) and then level through the front door which is 90 cm wide.

There is another door into the dining room without the step 5 meters further on which is 80 cm wide. The front of the property is well lit at night.

Assistance with luggage can be provided.

Welcome Area

Guests arrive into the lounge which is all on one level, there is ample varied seating.

The flooring is part fitted carpet and half flag floor with a rug

The area is well lit with an open fire central heating and a TV.

Maps walks and general visitor information is provided.

Bedrooms

2 double on the first floor have shower step in shower w/c and wash basin

1 twin has a bath and over bath shower w/c and wash hand basin

all bathrooms are well lit with halogen down lighters

Public Areas - Halls, Stairs, Landings, Corridors

All public areas, halls, stairs, landing, are well lit using a combination of ceiling and wall lights.

There is short pile carpet on the stairs, hall and landing.

There is a continuous flight of ten steps to the first floor with a handrail on one side.

Public Areas - Lounge

The guest lounge/diningroom is situated on the ground floor with 15 cm step down entry from the 90 cm front door and stairs.

The room has a mixture armchairs and coffee tables

lighting is provided by wall lights and table lamps.

We are able to cater for varying dietary requirements. Please advise us when making a booking.

Garden

The front garden is part paved and part flower beds with a garden bench
